SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to ophthalmology, and aims at improving visual acuity of a person in need thereof. Composition suitable as an artificial tear comprises sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, glycerol, sodium hyaluronate, Purite, boric acid, sodium borate decahydrate, sodium citrate dihydrate, potassium chloride, calcium chloride dihydrate, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, erythrite, sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid to bring pH to 7.2 and water for injections or purified water to 100 % of the volume. Alternatively, the composition also contains levocarnitine. Components are used in claimed amounts. To improve the visual acuity of a person in need thereof, said compositions are administered locally in an effective amount.
EFFECT: using the group of inventions makes it possible to improve the composition distribution by the cornea during blinking and to increase its retention on the eye surface.
