SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is intended to relieve pain and discomfort associated with the state of dry eye in a subject. Method of pain relief and discomfort associated with state of dry eye in subject, in the presence of such need, involves introduction into eye of subject composition, including hyaluronic acid, where hyaluronic acid is contained in the composition in concentration of 3.5 % wt/vol (35 mg/ml) to 9 % w/v (90 mg/ml), as well as in concentration 4 %w/v (40 mg/ml) to 8 % w/ v (80 mg/ml). Said hyaluronic acid has average molecular weight from 1 to 2 million, is not cross-linked and/or is not chemically modified, which leads to relieving pain and discomfort in the individual. Said composition does not contain other pharmaceutically active substances.

EFFECT: use of group of inventions provides pain relief and discomfort associated with dry eye state in a subject, reduce abnormal impulsive activity in polymodal nociceptors and/or in cold thermoreceptors of eye nerve fibers.
