FIELD: vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an active buffer for mounting on a finishing surface of a passenger compartment in an automotive vehicle and an active buffer chamber. Active buffer comprises a cast plastic front wall for unfolding to receive a striking passenger in the passenger compartment, and a cast plastic rear wall connected around the substantially compacted perimeter with the front wall to form an inflatable chamber. Rear wall comprises, at least, one substantially circular corrugated baffle for unfolding when the chamber is inflated to unfold the front wall. Further, an injection pump delivers gas for inflating into the inflatable bladder in response to a vehicle collision event. Absorbing element is located along front wall of chamber before inflation and is configured to turn across front wall and into fixed stop with rear wall after inflation of chamber for mechanical resistance to movement after inflation of front wall to rear wall and for dissipation of energy of striking passenger.
