FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to agriculture, in particular to blast suppressant and / or blast resistant compositions of ammonium nitrate fertilizers. Fertilizer composition comprises an ammonium nitrate material and an effective amount of a stabilizer material to result in a specific impulse of not greater than 13.5 kPa⋅ms/kg when measured in accordance with a blast propagation test. Stabilizer material is at least 12.5 wt% of the total fertilizer composition and is selected from layered double hydroxide and/or apatite. Layered double hydroxide is hydrotalcite or hydrocalumite. Apatite is represented by hydroxyapatite. Fertilizer may further comprise a filler selected from bauxite slurry, flint clay, red mud and their combination.
EFFECT: increase in the blast suppressant and desensitizing properties of the fertilizer is achieved by addition of stabilizers, which prevents the possibility of its use in explosives.
