SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surface treatment methods using powder materials. Disclosed is a method of providing minimum mechanical losses in friction assemblies of mechanical aggregates of vehicles when forming coatings without disassembly of aggregates, in which natural minerals are used to form coatings, having particle dispersion of not more than 20 mcm, allowed by specific pressure in friction pairs in compact state, which is not less than 4 times higher than normalized allowable specific pressure for friction pair materials without coating, shear strength in initial mass of material is not more than 15 N/mm2. Volume of the input material is determined based on the surface area of the coated parts, taking into account the thickness of layer of 10–20 mcm and the safety factor of 1.2. Material is introduced in a stirred state in a portion of standard liquid oil or grease used in said friction unit, running-in of assemblies with formation of surfaces from mineral material under working pressure for this unit is performed at normal mode of car operation at speeds of not more than 60 km/h for 15 minutes for passenger cars and 30 minutes for large trucks.
EFFECT: technical result is increase in shrinkage ratio (compression) in each of engine cylinders by not less than 5 N/cm2, reduced noise and vibration of operation of engine and other units, change of dynamic characteristics of vehicle, in particular, reduced acceleration time to assigned speed.
