FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to methods for formation of surface layers. For part of friction pair value of surface wear intensity is set, as well as friction coefficient and design rated pressure, which is determined with the help of geometric parametres of friction pair, elastic properties of parts and power factors. Value of adhesion links cut stress is calculated on contact area as product of half of design rated pressure and friction coefficient. Required value of specific volume energy of surface layer material deformation is determined with account of calculated stress of adhesion links cut. Coating material is selected. Method and mode of surface layer creation is selected from selected material as well as type of main material surface treatment provided that required value of specific volume energy of plastic deformation is achieved in syrface layer material.
EFFECT: formation of surface layers of parts with preset value of wear intensity.
