FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to radiology, urology and oncology, and can be used for differential diagnostics of prostate gland (PG) neoplasm using analysis of washout gradient. Computed tomography of the prostate gland is performed. Densitometric density of PG tissue is determined in native, venous and late parenchymal reinforcement phases. Gradient of washing (grad) is calculated by formula: grad = (HU1-HU2) / (HU1-HU0) × 100 %, where HU1 – densitometric density of PG tissue in venous phase (40 seconds from the moment of contrast agent introduction), HU2 is the densitometric density of the PG tissue in the late parenchymal phase (10 minutes from the moment of the contrast agent introduction), HU0 is the densitometric density of the prostate tissue in the native phase (before the contrast agent is introduced). If grad is more than 60 %, prostate cancer is diagnosed, and if grad is 15 to 60 %, benign prostatic hyperplasia is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of differentiation of the prostate neoplasms and the possibility of conducting the examination in the presence of contraindications to MRI by calculating the contrast substance washout gradient in the pathological formation of the gland.
