FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to X-ray diagnostics and can be used to determine the degree of pancreatic fibrosis. Computed tomography (CT) of abdominal cavity organs is performed with intravenous contrasting with non-ionic iodine-containing X-ray contrast preparation with non-contrast, pancreatic and venous phases. X-ray density values are measured by sequential densitometry of the pancreas head, body and tail. Measurement results are summarized in the form of average values, then the contrast ratio coefficient (CRC) is calculated by the original formula. Severity of pancreatic fibrosis is determined by the CRC value.

EFFECT: method is non-invasive, prevents such dangerous complications as bleeding from vessels of celiac-mesenteric and portal basin and post-traumatic acute pancreatitis; reproducible and enables to obtain information on the process of pancreatic fibrosis in dynamics by analysing the results of CT with intravenous contrast enhancement.
