SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment, namely to a walking training device. Device (100) for walking training has movable base (200), beam system (300) extending from movable base (200), weight support system (400) enabling at least partial suspension of user (410) from above in suspended system (500) by beam system (300), motion sensor (801, 802, 531, 532) for user motion recognition (410) and control unit (900) configured to control driving unit (210) in response to movement of user (410), detected by motion sensor (801, 802, 531, 532), so that movable base (200) follows user (410) in specified range of distances and in specified range of angles relative to direction of user movement (410). Movable base (200) comprises left base (201) and right base (202). On each of two bases (201, 202) there is one drive unit (210) for moving movable base (200). Beam system (300) comprises two side beams (301, 302) extending to plane (420) passing through common axis (215) of drive assemblies (210) such that suspension system (500) is located in close proximity to said plane (420) under side beams (301, 302), wherein said plane (420) is oriented substantially vertically.
EFFECT: invention is characterized by improved determination of changes in direction of movement of a user.
