FIELD: treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of cleaning contaminated polymers using a solvent under pressure and solid media. Method of purifying the regenerated polymer involves obtaining a regenerated polymer and dissolving it in a solvent at high temperature and pressure to obtain a polymer solution which is purified at an elevated temperature and pressure by bringing the polymer solution into contact with the solid medium to obtain a purer polymer solution. Then a cleaner polymer is separated from the cleaner solution of polymer. Regenerated polymer is selected from polymers after household use, polymers after industrial use and combinations thereof. Solvent is selected from a group consisting of C1-C6 aliphatic hydrocarbons and mixtures thereof.
EFFECT: obtaining a polymer with improved colour characteristics and reduced odour.
