SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of cleaning contaminated polymers using a solvent under pressure and solid media. Method of purifying a regenerated polymer, for example, a polymer regenerated after domestic use or after industrial use, comprises obtaining a regenerated polymer and bringing it into contact with a liquid solvent at high temperature and pressure to obtain an extracted regenerated polymer. Extracted regenerated polymer is dissolved in a solvent at high temperature and pressure to obtain a solution containing the polymer and suspended contaminants. After settling, the solution undergoes cleaning at high temperature and pressure by contacting the polymer solution with the solid medium to obtain a cleaner polymer solution. Then, cleaner polymer is separated from solution.

EFFECT: obtaining a purified polymer which is substantially colourless and odourless.
