SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of cleaning contaminated polymers using a solvent under pressure and solid media. Method for purification of regenerated polypropylene, for example polypropylene regenerated after household use or after industrial use, includes obtaining regenerated polypropylene and bringing it into contact with liquid solvent at elevated temperature and pressure to obtain extracted regenerated polypropylene. Extracted regenerated polypropylene is dissolved in a solvent at high temperature and pressure to obtain a polypropylene solution which is purified at high temperature and pressure by contacting the polypropylene solution with the solid medium to obtain a purer polypropylene solution. Purer polypropylene is then separated from the purer polypropylene solution.

EFFECT: obtaining purified polypropylene substantially free from colour and odour.
