FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method of purifying regenerated polyethylene, for example, polyethylene reclaimed after domestic use or after industrial use. Method involves obtaining regenerated polyethylene and bringing it into contact with a first liquid solvent at high temperature and pressure to obtain extracted regenerated polyethylene. Extracted regenerated polyethylene is dissolved in a solvent selected from a group consisting of a first liquid solvent, a second liquid solvent or mixtures thereof at high temperature and pressure. Polyethylene solution is obtained and purified at high temperature and pressure by contacting polyethylene solution with solid medium to obtain a purer polyethylene solution. Purer polyethylene is then separated from the purer polyethylene solution. First and second liquid solvents have the same or different chemical composition and are selected from a group consisting of aliphatic C1-C6 hydrocarbons and mixtures thereof.
EFFECT: invention increases degree of purification of regenerated polyethylene to obtain purer polyethylene.
