FIELD: purification methods.

SUBSTANCE: method for purifying regenerated polyethylene is described, wherein regenerated polyethylene is selected from a group consisting of polymers after domestic use, polymers after industrial use and combinations thereof, including bringing regenerated polyethylene into contact with the first liquid solvent, dissolving extracted regenerated polyethylene in a solvent selected from a group consisting of the first liquid solvent, the second liquid solvent and mixtures thereof, settling the first solution containing polyethylene, at least one dissolved contaminating impurity and at least one suspended contaminating impurity to obtain the second solution containing polyethylene, at least one dissolved contaminating impurity and smaller amount of at least one suspended contaminating impurity; filtrating the second solution to obtain the third solution containing purer polyethylene, at least one dissolved contaminating impurity and even smaller amount of at least one suspended contaminating impurity; separating purer polyethylene from the third solution; wherein the second liquid solvent has the same chemical composition as the first liquid solvent, or another chemical composition, and the liquid solvent is selected from a group consisting of olefin hydrocarbons, aliphatic hydrocarbons and mixtures thereof, wherein aliphatic hydrocarbon is preferably selected from a group consisting of aliphatic hydrocarbons C1-C6 and mixtures thereof.

EFFECT: obtaining purified polyethylene.
