FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to laser processing of various machines and mechanisms. Method of hardening cutting tool from carbide-containing alloys by continuous laser exposure method, involving laser treatment using continuous action laser at power density of laser radiation 2⋅106 Wt/m2, laser beam propagation speed within 2⋅10-2±1⋅10-2 m/s, wherein diameter of beam is selected from 1.5⋅10-3 up to 2.5⋅10-3 m, and distance from cutting edge to irradiation point is from 1 to 1.5 mm, and before continuous laser exposure, carbonitransion is carried out in carbonitriding bath at temperature of 540 °C to 580 °C in melt of salts based on 20 % potassium cyanate KCNO and potassium carbonate CK2O3 – 80 % potash K2CO3 with holding for 30 minutes.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce wear of carbide-containing alloys by adding carbonitrategia before laser treatment of hard alloys, which increases resistance of carbide-containing alloys.
