FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of materials with new properties used, in particular, in production of hard alloy cutting tools. Method of laser processing of hard-alloy cutting cobalt-containing tool includes impact by pulse laser beam on cutting tool, at that, cutting tool is processed by volume pulse laser hardening, then analysis of material phase composition, correction of hardening modes, and laser pulse energy is determined based on the resulting amount α-Co in cobalt binder of reinforced material.
EFFECT: technical result is improved physical and mechanical properties of materials, which are stored after wear and re-twisting; wherein optimization of the phase composition of the material enables to obtain the highest possible results for each specific cutting condition.
