FIELD: hydroacoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydroacoustic communication. To achieve technical result in signal detection method, complex cross-correlation function is calculated between received signal and all its cyclic shifts, finding a maximum component among the values of dividing said maximum component by the level of side maxima and comparing the quotient with the detection threshold value, and when calculating the level of side maxima readings are entered into a MAS array, the elements of which are cyclically shifted m times, at each shift forming a MAS_1 array by selecting in the MAS array of the first N/2 counts, calculating the mean square deviation of the elements of the array MAS_1, which are stored in the array Q, in the formed array Q, finding a reading with a minimum level, which is identified with the level of side maxima.
EFFECT: providing a constant probability of false alarm when detecting a clock signal in a multi-beam hydroacoustic channel.
