FIELD: monitoring devices.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a device for processing media and a method of performing a task of counting material carriers in a bank machine using a temporary storage unit. Device for processing of material carriers comprises: an input/output unit, a recognition unit, a storage unit for material carriers, a temporary storage unit and a transportation path. Material carriers in each recirculation cassettes are temporarily stored in the temporary storage unit to confirm the number of material carriers remaining in the recycling cartridge, and transportation of temporary storage material storage media back into the recycling cartridge and storage thereof therein after measuring the number of remaining media.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of device and method of processing of material carriers, which due to use of temporary storage unit will allow to perform task of counting even when there is no empty cassette in automatic machine.
