FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: local vibration absorber includes interconnected metal mass and rubber layer between metal mass and damped structure. Metal mass is made in the form of a metal plate having thickness from 0.2 to 0.5 of the thickness of the damping structure. Length is defined from half to one length of bending wave in metal plate. One of surfaces of metal plate is lined with reinforced vibration-absorbing coating consisting of layer of polymer film from polyvinyl acetate with thickness from 0.2 mm to 1.5 mm and metal reinforcing layer with thickness from 0.2 to 0.5 of thickness of metal plate. Metal plate is connected to the damped structure through a mechanical fixture or a permanent magnet installed in the geometric centre or in the corners of the said plate, which are distant from the point with the highest vibration level at the distance of not more than 0.1 of the flexural wave length.
EFFECT: reduced weight, improved manufacturability, increased absorption of vibrational energy, wider frequency range of high efficiency.
