FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of control of low-frequency resonant oscillations of ship propeller shaft, which cause dynamic forces, action of which on ship hull structures leads to their intense vibration and noise emission. Propeller shaft comprises annular radial ledges arranged on it along its length, and is also equipped with metal or plastic strips of rectangular shape in plan. Circular radial ledges are made in the form of the same regular polyhedron. To edges of each adjacent pair of said projections are attached along short edges said rectangular strip, and long edges of strips are oriented along axis of propeller shaft. Strips on one or both surfaces are lined with reinforced vibration-absorbing coating. Parameters of the strips are selected based on the condition of equality of their lower resonance frequency of bending oscillations of one of the lower resonant frequencies of bending oscillations of the propeller shaft, and total weight of the above strips makes at least one percent of the weight of the propeller shaft.
EFFECT: effective vibration damping of low-frequency resonant oscillations of propeller shaft.
