FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the refining and petrochemical industries, and in particular to a method for processing industrial butane-butylene fraction and producing a catalyst for the implementation of this method. Proposed cracking catalyst of the butane-butylene fraction includes phosphorus-modified zeolite ZSM-5 with a Si/Al ratio from 40 to 150 and a matrix containing aluminum oxide, and moreover, the zeolite ZSM-5 contains from 0.5 to 2.0 wt. % of phosphorus, the matrix contains in its composition kaolin clay, in the following ratio of components in the catalyst, wt. %: phosphorus-modified zeolite ZSM-5 40–50; aluminum oxide 20–50; kaolin clay 20–35. Proposed method of cracking the butane-butylene fraction involves feeding the butane-butylene fraction to a fixed bed reactor with a weight feed rate of 2.5–5.0 h-1, at a temperature of 550–600 °C. In the claimed method, the butane-butylene fraction is diluted with an inert gas, which can be steam, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, in a volume ratio of the butane-butylene fraction:inert gas 1:(1–5), while the cracking of the butane-butylene fraction is carried out on the proposed catalyst.
EFFECT: increasing the selectivity of the conversion of the butane-butylene fraction to ethylene and propylene.
