FIELD: aerosol generating systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems which generate an aerosol containing a liquid holding cartridge and a heater assembly which is suitable for evaporation of liquid. Aerosol generating system comprises a housing with an air inlet and an air outlet for forming an air flow path, a heating element; cartridge installed with possibility of movement in housing and made with possibility of reversible displacement from first position to second position, wherein the cartridge comprises a liquid storage portion for holding an aerosol-generating liquid and having an aerosol-generating liquid delivery opening, wherein cartridge additionally comprises movable plunger, wherein when creating an air flow between the air inlet and the air outlet, the cartridge is moved by the airflow inside the housing, and movement of the cartridge activates release of a portion of the liquid which generates the aerosol through the cartridge opening.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is a heater assembly, suitable for an aerosol-generating system, such as a hand-held electrically controlled aerosol-generating system, with which it is also easy to handle, as in the case of systems on the basis of a wick and a coil, and which provides the possibility of accurate determination of amount of liquid, which is subject to evaporation.
