SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating apparatus. Aerosol-generating apparatus (10) containing a casing (12) with a first end forming a mouthpiece (18), a second end (14), and a cavity (25) formed between the first end and the second end. Apparatus (10) also comprises a tank (22) located in the cavity for storage of a liquid aerosol-forming substrate. Apparatus (10) also comprises a sprayer (24) and a valve (26) located inside the mouthpiece (18) of the casing, wherein the valve has a downstream side and an upstream side, and the upstream side of the valve comprises one or more of a hydrophilic coating, a hydrophobic coating, or a liquid-absorbing coating.

EFFECT: leaking of liquid from the mouthpiece is minimised.
