FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of hardening an unsaturated polyester resin or vinyl ether resin. Described is a method of curing an unsaturated polyester resin or a vinyl ester resin containing a reactive diluent selected from a group consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylates, methacrylates, acrylamides, methacrylamides and combinations thereof, said method comprising adding to said resin (I) a ketone peroxide selected from a group consisting of methyl isopropyl ketone peroxide, methyl isobutyl ketone peroxide, cyclohexanone peroxide, as well as combinations thereof, and (II) a Cu compound. Described also is a radically curable resin composition containing (I) an unsaturated polyester resin or a vinyl ether resin, (ii) a ketone peroxide selected from a group consisting of methyl isopropyl ketone peroxide, methyl isobutyl ketone peroxide, cyclohexanone peroxide, as well as their combinations, (III) compound Cu and (IV) reactive diluent selected from a group consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylates, methacrylates, acrylamides, methacrylamides and combinations thereof.
EFFECT: technical result is improved reactivity and mechanical properties of diluted (meth)acrylate unsaturated polyester and vinyl ether resins.
