FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to diagnostic methods. To predict the risk of developing AIDS in HIV-infected patients, the presence or absence of cough, the presence or absence of elevated body temperature is detected, signs of swollen lymph nodes, measure the liver according to the method of M. G. Kurlov, determine the presence and nature of the tuberculous process, the size of the spleen by ultrasound, as well as the number of copies of the virus RNA per milliliter of blood plasma. Next, a dimensionless prognostic index K is calculated. With a K value below 3 units, a low risk of developing AIDS is predicted over the next year. With the value of K within 3 < K ≤ 4 units the average risk of developing AIDS is predicted over the next year. With a K value above 4 units, a high risk of fatal AIDS is predicted during the coming year.
EFFECT: predicting the risk of developing AIDS in HIV-infected patients.
