FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to diagnostic methods. To predict the risk of developing AIDS in HIV-infected patients, hepatic percussion is measured by median-clavicular line according to the M. G. Kurlov technique. Stage of HIV is additionally diagnosed, the stage of tuberculosis is determined, presence or absence of the raised temperature is determined, presence or absence of a chronic obstructive disease of lungs is determined and the maintenance of CD4-lymphocytes in blood is measured. Dimensionless prognostic index is then calculated using the original formula. If the prognostic index is less than 2 units, a low risk of HIV infection into AIDS is predicted. If the prognostic index is 2 to 3 units, the average risk of HIV infection in AIDS is predicted. If the prognostic index is more than 3 units, a high risk of HIV infection in AIDS is predicted.
EFFECT: method enables high-accuracy prediction of the risk of developing AIDS in HIV-infected patients under 40 years of age when serving their sentences in correctional facilities.
