FIELD: lighting engineering.
SUBSTANCE: low-pressure mercury gas-discharge lamp comprises tubular elongated housing (2) with two opposite ends, first end (4) and second end (5), which contains gas filler (3), and at least two electric contacts on each end, which are electrically connected to at least one thread located on each end, wherein discharge length (l) is limited between threads. At each end of discharge length (l) there are at least two threads (a, c and b, d), wherein electric power can be supplied to threads (a, c; b, d) separately, wherein said at least two threads (a, c) on first end (4) have different size and different weight, and said at least two threads (b, d) at second end (5) have different size and different weight.
EFFECT: possibility of lamp operation at low level of power consumption and increase in its operation safety.
