FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices and systems which generate an aerosol operating on the basis of heating an aerosol-forming substrate. Device which generates an aerosol for heating the aerosol-forming substrate comprises a power supply; heater; a controller configured to control the supply of power from the power supply to the heater; and gaseous combustion products sensor; wherein the controller is connected to the gaseous combustion products sensor and is configured to monitor the level of the gaseous combustion products based on the signals from the gaseous combustion products sensor.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the provision of an aerosol-generating device and system which do not allow generation of high levels of undesirable aerosol components and which can be used with many different and unknown substrates forming an aerosol.
