SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerosol-generating device for inhalating the produced aerosol by a smoker, which comprises the heating element for heating the aerosol-forming substrate; the power source connected to the heating element; and the controller connected to the heating element and the power source, wherein the controller is designed to regulate the power supplied to the heating element from the power source, in order to maintain the temperature of the heating element at a predetermined level, and is made with the possibility to monitor the heater element temperature change or changes of the power supplied to the heating element, in order to detect a change in the airflow passing through the heating element, indicating the smoker's inhalation.
