FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. System for detecting solid particles in engine outlet pipe comprises first outer pipe (210) and second inner pipe (220). First, outer pipe has multiple gas inlet holes on upstream surface and has no inlet holes on downstream surface. Upstream surface faces the exhaust gas flow in the outlet branch pipe. Downstream surface faces the outgoing exhaust gas flow. Second inner pipe has multiple gas inlet holes on the downstream surface. Downstream surface faces the outgoing exhaust gas flow. Inside the second inner tube solid particles sensor (232) is located. Disclosed is system (version) and method of detecting solid particles in engine exhaust branch pipe.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency and reliability of solid particles sensor operation due to protection against collisions with drops of water and coarse particles.
