FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, and more particularly to traction electric motors of electric locomotives. Method of electric locomotive traction electric motors insulation drying, at which current drying is performed using electric locomotive own equipment, covers at least one group of traction engines including traction motors of one trolley. Drying process is carried out under control of microprocessor control and diagnostics system using circuit of active insulation resistance monitoring by means of insulation resistance meters built in circuit directly on electric locomotive when it is stationary by supplying voltage from contact network to converter of auxiliary needs for its supply with static converter of dried traction motors of each group by direct current of low voltage of 300 A, excitation windings and anchors of which are connected in series circuits. Drying process is carried out in two stages in two stationary positions with transfer of lower parts of armature and collector of traction electric motor into position diametrically opposite to position at the first stage.

EFFECT: technical result consists in the effective current drying of the isolation of traction motors by the technical means of the locomotive by the forces of the driver with an effective target power consumption.
