METHOD OF DRYING INSULATION OF TRACTION ELECTRIC MOTORS OF AN ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC H02K15/12

Abstract RU 2742653 C1

FIELD: rail transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and more specifically to electric traction motors for electric locomotives. The method for drying the insulation of traction electric motors of an electric locomotive, in which current drying is performed using the electric locomotive's own technical means, covers at least one group of traction motors, including traction motors of one bogie. The drying process is carried out under the control of a microprocessor control and diagnostic system using an active control circuit for insulation resistance using insulation resistance meters built into the circuit directly on the electric locomotive when it is parked by supplying voltage from the contact network to the auxiliary converter to supply it with a static converter of the dried traction motors of each group low voltage direct current of 300 A, the excitation windings and armatures of which are included in series circuits. In this case, the process of drying the insulation is carried out in four cycles in four stationary positions of the electric locomotive in a cycle for each stationary position. The distance between adjacent stationary positions corresponds to a quarter of the full revolution of the armature with the collector of the traction motor. Current is passed in each drying cycle for 30 minutes. After that ventilation and insulation resistance measurement are carried out during 30 seconds. The nominal distances between adjacent stationary positions of the electric locomotive are L=πD/4u with maximum deviations of ±100 mm where D is the wheel diameter of the electric locomotive bogie along the rolling circle, u is the gear ratio of the gear transmission of the wheel-motor unit of the electric locomotive bogie.

EFFECT: elimination of a decrease in electrical and mechanical strength and a decrease in the heat transfer coefficient of electrical insulating materials.
