FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of construction materials, particularly popcorn light concrete, and can be used for making small-piece structural and heat-insulating wall articles for low-rise and cottage construction. In the method of preparing a mixture for making popcorn light concrete, comprising mixing portland cement, coarse porous aggregate, nanomodifier and water, as aggregate used is expanded clay gravel, treated with ultrasound at frequency of 35 kHz in water for 3 minutes, and as nanomodificator – complex nanodispersed additive with particle size of 20–80 nm, obtained in form of suspension by ultrasonic dispersion of metakaolin in aqueous medium of superplasticiser S-3, when mixing portland cement first with nanomodifier and part of tempering water to obtain a cement paste of normal thickness, and then with expanded clay gravel and a residue of water, with the following ratio of components, wt%: portland cement 25.4–28.7, expanded clay gravel 62.4, nanomodifier 2–2.3, water 6.6–10.2.
EFFECT: high compression strength and low water absorption of popcorn light concrete.
