FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely, to continuous casting of workpieces, and can be used in machines for continuous casting of workpieces (CCW). Proposed method comprises feeding metal from intermediate ladle through submersible into crystallizer rocking "up and down" and gas-pulse mixing of liquid phase of workpiece in crystalliser by cyclic ejection of metal portions from submerged barrel with inert gas. Cyclic pushing of metal portion from submersible nozzle is performed at crystallizer swinging phase "down" at gas pressure not less than ferrostatic head pressure h pushed from crystallizer of metal at depth of 0.4÷0.5 of its height and gas release at swinging upward.
EFFECT: invention enables to perform gas-pulse mixing of metal during continuous casting of steel, which significantly intensifies heat-and-mass exchange processes in the crystalliser and increases efficiency of the CCW up to 10 %, higher quality of cast workpieces due to higher density and dispersity of their crystalline structures, reduced axial porosity and segregation.
