METHOD FOR CONTINUOUS STEEL CASTING (EMBODIMENTS) Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC B22D11/18

Abstract RU 2798500 C1

FIELD: continuous casting of steel.

SUBSTANCE: method of continuous casting of steel includes the supply of steel from a steel-pouring ladle to an intermediate ladle and further through metal wiring with an inner diameter of the channel from 35 to 60 mm into a mould of a quadrangular section with a size ratio of 1.00 to 1.289 or a round section with a diameter of 400-500 mm, forming a billet, drawing it out of the mould and cooling. The flow of steel into the mould is regulated depending on the speed of drawing the ingot at the beginning of casting or after replacing the intermediate ladle. At the beginning of casting, the ingot drawing speed is gradually increased from 0 m/min to the starting speed and maintained at it for 60-240 s, then the speed is increased to the operating speed in cycles with an increase in speed in the range of 0.01-0.03 m/min in one cycle. The time of one cycle of increasing the speed is determined by the formula X=A+B, where X is the time of one cycle, s; A is the time taken to increase the speed, s; B is the holding time at the achieved speed, s. The holding time (B) is determined by the formula B=K3⋅A, where K3 is a constant coefficient equal to 3.0-12.0.

EFFECT: increased stability of steel casting is provided.
