FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, specifically to microwave engineering. Waveguide polarization selector comprises a section of a circular waveguide of diameter D, a first segment of a rectangular waveguide with transverse dimension of wide walls A>D and transverse dimension of narrow walls B<D, waveguide junction having N stages located between them and having common longitudinal axis with them, second section of rectangular waveguide, longitudinal axis of which is perpendicular, and wide walls are parallel to said common longitudinal axis, diaphragm installed at connection point of second section of rectangular waveguide with section of circular waveguide, and a longitudinal diametric metal plate installed parallel to the wide walls of the first section of the rectangular waveguide, one transverse face of which is located in the section of the circular waveguide, and the other one – in the waveguide passage. Each of N stages of waveguide junction is made with cross section having oval shape with length of large axis E_i and small axis length F_i, which satisfy relationships: D≤E_i≤A, B≤F_i<D, where i=1…N. In longitudinal diametrical metal plate oval holes are made, which small axes coincide with said common longitudinal axis, and large axes – perpendicular to it. Oval holes are of the same size with length of major axis G and length of minor axis H, satisfying the following ratios: 0.7D≤G≤D, 0.15D≤H≤0.4D, and distance S between them, satisfying the relationship: 0.1D≤S≤0.25D.

EFFECT: use of the invention widens the operating range of the waveguide polarization selector to 19–21 % in single-mode operation of all waveguide channels.
