FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to water foam fire extinguishing, and specifically to creation of multipurpose universal foaming agent for fire extinguishing classes A and B (solid and liquid substances, including wood, coal, oil and oil products, motor and diesel fuels, stable gas condensate, mineral and synthetic oils, organic solvents and other polar flammable liquids). Foaming agent is suitable for use in low-temperature conditions typical for regions of the Far North, the Arctic Circle and the Northern Sea Route. It ensures quenching with the use of foam of low, medium and high multiplicity on fresh and sea (outboard) water with all types of mobile, stationary, automatic and robotic installations water foam fire extinguishing, including for under-layer fire extinguishing of oil and oil products in reservoirs and tank farms. Composition foaming agent includes a complex of synthetic hydrocarbon and fluorine-containing surfactants with stabilizing additives and antifreeze, providing fire extinguishing in winter conditions at ambient temperature of up to - 60 °C. Foaming agent contains the following components as the surfactant complex: EXTINOL 732 A (in amount of 9.0–10 %) and EXTINOL 967 C (in amount of 0.9–1.1 %), which provide required values of surface and interphase tension of foaming agent, and EXTINOL B 189 B (in amount of 1.35–1.45 %), which provides the required foaming rate. Solubilising agent used is butyl cellosolve (amounting to 3.9–4.0 %). Cryoprotecting agent used is raw material ethylene glycol, the amount of which is set depending on the temperature T °С of atmosphere, at which fire extinguishing is performed, and is calculated by formula: Ethylene glycol feedstock,

Corrosion inhibitor used is an anticorrosive complex containing in equal proportions: Sodium benzoic acid, dibasic sodium phosphate and sodium nitrite (in total amount of 0.9–1.1 %) and the rest is desalted or distilled water. Created foaming agent complies with all modern requirements and universality characteristics and is suitable for fire extinguishing of a wide range of combustible liquids using standard equipment and water foam fire extinguishing equipment.

EFFECT: universal multi-purpose foaming agent has the required complex of physical and chemical properties, foaming and fire extinguishing properties, as well as applied consumer and operational characteristics, providing its maximum wide use for extinguishing all types of fires in conditions of Extreme North, including on offshore platforms.
