FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an naphthalate mixture plasticizer of polyvinyl chloride and other polymers using by-products of production – C5 fractions of pyrolysis and bottom residue of rectification of butyl alcohols (BRRBA). Method involves reaction of 1,3-dienes (isoprene, piperylene and cyclopentadiene) contained in C5 fraction, with maleic anhydride (MA) at temperature of reaction mixture 30–35 °C and molar ratio of 1,3-diene:MA equal to 0.9–1.5:1, to obtain mixture of 5-norbornene-2,3-dicarboxylic, 4-methyl-4-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic and 3-methyl-4-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid anhydrides, followed by their esterification with an alcohol fraction recovered from the BRRBA by fractional distillation at temperature of 150–190 °C and atmospheric pressure, or at a vapor temperature of 100–150 °C and pressure of 0.01–0.007 MPa, and containing not less than 50 wt% of C8.
EFFECT: expansion of raw material sources for production of cheap mixed naphthalate plasticizer, simplification of method, reduction of production prime cost.
