FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an ester plasticizer of PVC and other polymers using raw materials as production of fusel oil, butyl alcohol distillation residue (BADR) and by-product of dimethyl terephthalate (BPDMTP). Method of producing polyester vinyl ester plasticizer by re-esterification of dimethyl ethers of terephthalic and isophthalic acids by mixture of monoatomic alcohols in presence of catalyst is characterized by that raw material is represented by by-product of dimethyl terephthalate (BPDMTP), containing a mixture of dimethyl terephthalate and dimethylisophthalate in amount of 70.0–95.0 %, and an alcohol fraction obtained either from fusel oil by fractional distillation at atmospheric pressure and vapor temperature of 110–140 °C, or butyl alcohol distillation residue (BADR) by fractional distillation at atmospheric pressure and vapor temperature of 150–195 °C or at pressure of 0.01–0.007 MPa and a vapor temperature of 100–150 °C, wherein the re-esterification process is carried out by boiling at atmospheric pressure in the presence of a mixture catalyst BPDMTP and an alcohol fraction taken in an amount which provides a molar ratio of dimethyl ethers and alcohols of 1:2.3–4.0, with simultaneous distillation of methanol fraction released during reaction with temperature of distillation vapors in range of 60–70 °C, then excess alcohol fraction is distilled under reduced pressure, obtained product is neutralized, filtered and dried.

EFFECT: enlarging raw material sources for obtaining cheap mixed plasticisers based on tera- and isophthalic acids with good plasticising and solvating properties.
