FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for preparing dialkylnorbornene-2.3-dicarboxylates is carried out by reacting dialkyl diester of fumaric acid with cyclopentadiene (CPD), as a source of CPD, C5 fraction of pyrolysis is used in an amount providing a molar ratio of alkyl diester of fumaric acid and CPD of 1:1.5-3.0, wherein C5 fraction is dosed into the alkyl diester of fumaric acid at a reaction mass of 16-20°C. The reaction is then carried out at room temperature until the fumaric acid diester is completely consumed, after which the excess of C5 fraction is distilled off at a temperature of 30-60°C and at an atmospheric pressure, and the bottom residue is evacuated at a pressure of 2-10 mm Hg and at the temperature in the cube of 50-80°C.
EFFECT: expanding raw material sources, simplifying the method, reducing the cost price.
