FIELD: nanotechnologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nanotechnologies and can be used in the field of materials based on silicon carbide for magnetometry, quantum optics, biomedicine, as well as in information technologies based on quantum properties of spins and single photons. Optical magnetometer comprises an active material in form of a silicon carbide crystal comprising spin centres with a main quadruplet spin state, a high-frequency (HF) power supply device, a laser emitting in the near infrared region, an electromagnet, a lens, a semitransparent mirror, a filter, a photodetector, a synchronous detector, a low-frequency (LF) generator, a high-frequency (HF) constant frequency generator, a high-frequency (HF) variable frequency generator, a direct current source and a control unit.
EFFECT: high sensitivity of the optical magnetometer.
