SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the chemical-pharmaceutical industry and represents methods for preventing conception, involving local administration of a contraceptive bactericidal composition containing 1–10 % alginic acid, 1–10 % xanthum gum and 1–10 % L-lactic acid; wherein alginic acid has a ratio of mannuronate residues: guluronate in range of 0.25 to 2.0, and the composition is in the non-matrix state, when not in contact with the ejaculate, and in the matrix state when in contact with the ejaculate, wherein the composition does not contain D-lactic acid.
EFFECT: group of inventions includes an improved acid buffer contraceptive agent due to the presence of L-lactic and alginic acids.
