FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of ropes having optimum operating characteristics, providing increased service life of ropes used for servicing wells of drilling rigs in oil and gas industry, as well as in load-carrying and traction mechanisms and machines, in stationary and dynamic systems. In the method of producing a cable for servicing wells, including formation of a rope from strands, its deformation to a given diameter, the rope is formed of three strands of linear contact with diameter D1, consisting of N number of wires stranded together in a cable with diameter D2, strands are made of steel wires with diameter Di with number (N-1)=6÷35 and number of layers of wires in strands from 1 to 3, guiding them around one central wire with diameter D3, wherein outer wires of linear contact strands are laid with gaps of 1.8–2.2 %, providing a place for plastic deformation of wires and ratio of diameter of rope and strand of cable D2:D1=(2.10–2.12), as well as a dense twist of the rope without inter-spike clearance, required during rope reduction with simultaneous plastic deformation of outer surface of rope, wherein outer surface of rope is plastically deformed with degree of reduction of cross-section area of rope 27.4–27.6 % to diameter D4 and after crimping the cross-section area of 14.6–16.7 % to the preset diameter D5 after crimping, thereby compressing the diameter of the cable in the reduction process D5:D4:D2=(1.27–1.29):(1.08–1.10):1, rope reduction from initial to preset diameter is 38.0–39.5 %.
EFFECT: high strength of rope, resistance to rope twisting during operation, increased area of contact of rope surface with surface of pulleys and drum, which increases its resistance to abrasion, reduces wear of pulleys and drum, which eliminates additional costs for new equipment.
