SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine and concerns method for detecting pancreatic cancer or a benign pancreatic tumor by measuring the number of versions of the APOA2 protein in a body fluid sample of the analysed individual, which comprises (A) a first step of measuring, in a sample, the amount of APOA2-ATQ protein using an antibody against end of APOA2-ATQ and antibody not against end of APOA2-ATQ; (B) a second step of measuring, in a sample, the amount of APOA2-AT protein using the anti-APOA2-AT end antibody and the non anti-APOA2-AT end antibody; and (C) a third step of inputting into a predetermined logistic regression expression a measured protein APOA2-ATQ and a measured protein APOA2-AT and determining a pancreatic cancer or benign pancreatic tumor in an individual being examined, if the resultant discriminator value of the analysed individual statistically significantly differs from the discriminant value of the normal individual. Group of inventions also relates kit for detecting pancreatic cancer or a benign pancreatic tumor containing two or more types of said antibodies.
