FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser drilling of holes in surgical needle. Laser drilling machine is used for drilling. System comprises a fiber inoculating laser for creating a low-power beam, a modulator for receiving and pulsating a beam, at least one semiconductor NdYAG amplifier for receiving and amplifying a pulsed beam and a focusing optics for focusing a pulse beam from the optics to the proximal end of the surgical needle. Hole is drilled in the proximal end of the surgical needle with a beam with a peak power of 5 to 80 kW. M2 value of the focused pulsed beam is from approximately 2 to approximately 6, wherein the pulse duration of the focused pulse beam is from approximately 3 to approximately 30 microseconds.

EFFECT: technical result consists in production of laser beam of high quality, which is modulated and amplified and which has accuracy required for creation of accurate drilled holes.
