FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: tubular element has a peripheral groove with a surface area oriented at an angle to its longitudinal axis. Section of surface of groove, which adjoins to inclined section of surface, is oriented perpendicular to longitudinal axis. Mechanical coupling has protruding locks in engagement with groove. Locks have conjugated surfaces in contact with both perpendicular and with inclined surfaces of groove surface. When tubular element and coupling are used in combination to form tubular connection, axial load on pipe, which is resisted by this mechanical connection, is distributed on perpendicular and inclined surface areas, which makes it possible to obtain pipe joint capable of withstanding higher internal pressure than if axial load operated on perpendicular surface area only.
