SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used for prediction of disturbed evacuation function of rectosigmoid intestine following thoracic operations. In the preoperative period, the distance between the umbilicus and the superior anterior head of the left iliac bone and between the navel and pubic constriction is measured. Patient is fed. After feeding in interval from 2.5 to 3.5 hours, control measurements are performed every 15 minutes. If the distance between the umbilicus and the upper anterior head of the left iliac bone is more than 25 % and between the umbilicus and the pubic constriction more than 10 % compared to the indices on an empty stomach, a risk of chymous passage disorders in the zone of the rectosigmoid intestine after thoracic operations is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides prediction of disturbed evacuation function of rectosigmoid intestine following thoracic operations by measuring distance between umbilicus and upper anterior spine of left ilium and between navel and pubic constriction.
