FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to remote sensing of the Earth and a method of identifying plant objects from space images of remote sensing. Method includes ground measurements on test ranges, simultaneous space survey of test polygons and formation of a library of standards - sets of features describing a certain class of objects. Image identification method is used to identify images. Decision function is constructed which, according to a specific feature vector, matches the number of the class to which it belongs. Each discrete component of the image pixel is compared with a set of reference values of the boundaries of sections for all index values and a conclusion is made on the fulfillment or non-fulfillment of the conditions for each feature. Library of standards is formed from shots of test polygons with a certain type of vegetation, from which reference values of decoding features are calculated, the values of which are a fuzzy set. Functions of the normalized differentiated NDVI indices, represented by the fuzzy sets, are constructed.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability of plant objects identification.
