FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cutting plate has first surface with face surface, second surface located opposite the first one, peripheral surface extending between said first and second surfaces and comprises a relief surface formed thereat to feature positive rear angle, and cutting edge formed at intersection of face and relief surfaces. Said relief surface is formed along with preset angle of cutting plate and includes major, first auxiliary and mid relief surface extending between major and first auxiliary surfaces. Note here that cutting edge comprises the major, first auxiliary edge and intermediate cutting edge formed at intersection of intermediate relied surface and face surface and connected with major and first auxiliary cutting edges. Intermediate relief surface comprises extending curved relief surface extending from first surface to second surface. Intersection of curved relied surface and face surface features presser radius of curvature and is shaped, in fact, identically to that of curved relief surface and second surface. Intermediate relief surface comprises relief surface with skewed angle extending between curved relief surface and major relief surface. Intersection of curved relief surface and first surface is connected with intersection of first auxiliary relief surface and first surface and with intersection of relief surface with skewed angle and first surface. Face mill comprises cutting plate and body with detachable cutting plate revolves about central axis. Said cutting plate is fitted in said body to make auxiliary cutting edge extend perpendicular to central axis. Said cutting plate has positive axial major face angle and negative radial major face angle.
EFFECT: higher reliability of cutting edge.
