SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of video encoding. In the invention, the first prediction value is calculated using linear interpolation between the value of the corresponding pixels of the horizontal boundary and the value of one of the pixels of the vertical boundary, and second prediction value is calculated using linear interpolation between value of corresponding pixels of vertical boundary and value of one of pixels of horizontal boundary. Above first and second prediction values are then averaged to obtain the corresponding pixel prediction value in the prediction block. And the difference between the prediction block and the target block is reported to the decoder.
EFFECT: providing a coding mode with planar prediction with low complexity, which can improve intra-frame prediction encoding efficiency.
